Mr. Aarushh Sahu
Building a generation of confident, informed, and globally minded young leaders.

Mr. Aarushh Sahu is the Founder and President of SMJMUN and a passionate advocate for experiential youth education and leadership development.
At 22, his work in youth leadership has been recognised with the “Global Youth Leadership Visionary of the Year” award at the Global Icon Awards 2026, held in New Delhi on 22 August 2026. Through SMJMUN and his wider initiatives, he has trained and empowered 11,000+ students, creating opportunities for young people to develop leadership, communication, diplomacy and confidence.
His journey with Model United Nations began as a delegate. What started as participation gradually became a deeper pursuit of understanding — of international affairs, public policy, structured debate, negotiation and leadership.
Over the years, Mr. Aarushh Sahu participated in 70+ national and 10+ international Model United Nations conferences, earning 55+ Best Delegate awards and serving on the Executive Board of 50+ committees.
The experience eventually moved beyond competition. As an Executive Board member and trainer, he began working with younger delegates and observing the difference that structured mentorship could make.
That experience changed the question.
It was no longer simply:
“How can I become a better delegate?”
It became:
“How can I create better opportunities for others?”
That question became the foundation of SMJMUN.
Today, Mr. Aarushh Sahu works toward creating platforms where students can develop the confidence to speak, the discipline to prepare, the curiosity to understand and the courage to lead.
His vision for SMJMUN extends beyond conferences. He aims to build long-term relationships with educational institutions and create a stronger ecosystem for youth leadership, experiential learning and meaningful student development.

From Delegate to Founder
The Delegate
The journey began with participation. Learning committee procedure, researching countries, understanding international issues and discovering the confidence that comes from standing behind an argument.
The Competitor
Experience turned into excellence. Years of conferences, preparation and continuous learning resulted in 55+ Best Delegate awards across national and international platforms.
The Executive Board Member
The perspective changed from being inside the committee to helping shape it. Chairing committees brought a deeper understanding of moderation, leadership, conflict management and creating meaningful debate.
The Trainer
The experience became something to share. Training delegates revealed one of the most rewarding parts of the journey — watching students who initially hesitate to speak gradually find confidence in their own voice.
The Founder
Eventually, the goal became bigger than individual achievement. SMJMUN was created to build the kind of platform Aarushh believed young people deserved.
“A platform does not create a leader by itself. It simply gives someone the courage to discover that they can become one.”
— Mr. Aarushh Sahu
A Vision for Institutional Leadership
The ultimate goal of SMJMUN extends far beyond hosting successful conferences. Aarushh envisions a holistic, interconnected ecosystem where youth leadership is not an extracurricular activity, but a core component of mainstream education.
This means building long-term educational partnerships with schools and universities, institutionalizing diplomatic training, and creating continuous leadership pipelines that bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world execution.
- Building long-term educational partnerships
- Connecting diverse academic institutions
- Creating continuous leadership opportunities
- Expanding MUN education to all demographics
- Developing a robust youth leadership ecosystem
A Message from the Founder
TO EVERYONE WHO WALKS INTO AN SMJMUN ROOM
I still remember what it felt like to enter a committee room as a delegate.
You may know your research. You may have prepared your opening speech. You may even know exactly what you want to say.
And yet, when the room becomes quiet and it is finally your turn to speak, there is always that moment of hesitation.
That moment matters. Because leadership often begins there.
Not when everything is perfect. Not when you are completely confident. But when you decide to speak anyway.
My journey through Model United Nations taught me far more than committee procedure or international affairs. It taught me how to listen, how to disagree without disrespect, how to prepare, how to recover from failure and how to stand behind an idea.
Over time, I realised that the greatest part of the journey was not the awards. It was watching other people discover their own voices.
That is one of the reasons SMJMUN exists. We want to create rooms where students can challenge themselves, meet different perspectives, learn from experienced people and discover abilities they may not have known they possessed.
And our ambition goes beyond a three-day conference. We want to work with institutions to make leadership, communication and global awareness a meaningful part of a student's educational journey.
To every delegate who walks into an SMJMUN conference:
Do not come only to win. Come to learn. Come to listen. Come to challenge yourself. And leave with something that stays with you long after the final gavel.
Dare to enter the room. Rise through the experience. Impact the world beyond it.
